Pack-Ratism : Solving the Inventory Issue
We are hoarders. We love to hoard things. The issue now, is WHERE DO I HOARD THINGS. Limited Storage and Inventory space can cause major problems for any pack rats out there. If you're starting out and have no clue what to keep, or are just having a typical problem with your inventory, here are some things to clear and things to keep.
To the Trash
- Collectibles : Collectibles are the random items you find that drop from monsters. They often have peculiar names and are completely useless except to sell to NPCs. You can drop them, or simply not pick them up. They can be sold to NPCs for very low prices (as in, prices so low they could beat any limbo game). Some very rare collectibles (such as a Wish Orb, a very rare drop from Manticore,) can be worth more when sold to an NPC ( - a Wish Orb is worth about 40g).
- Magic Grade Crests (Enhancement, Skill) : All Magic grade ones are useless.
- Rare Grade Skill Crests : These skill crests are generally not wanted. Get Epics; only use Rare grade crests if you have do not have the Epic version at the moment. Rare Enhancement plates may be crafted in attempt to get a third line plate that can be worn or sold, but Rare Skill plates are quite useless.
- Gear for Other Classes : You really don't need them. You can sell them on the market if you like, or just leave them.
- Low-Value Items : If you have no space, toss any other item below a certain value, such as a Skill Crest that is worth less than 100g.
- Event Items : Event items usually don't disappear after the event ends, taking up inventory space. Unless you REALLY want to keep them as some sort of odd memento item, they're generally useless.
Keep, keep, keep
- Dimension Keys : For lower players, definitely keep any you find so you can open the Bunny chest at the end of an Abyss dungeon. You should always have at least 1 inventory slot for these. You will use them a lot in dailies or for entering Hero's Battlefield.
- Dimension Crystal Fragments : Obtained from Bunny chests, collecting these will get you a skill crest plate from Stashy or any other crest master, which can get you a bit of profit or a plate you can use.
- Approval Stamps (Crude, Purified) : These unbind items. If you find any, hoard them.
- Epic Grade Skill Crests : Epic grade skill crests are fairly rare; they come mostly from Golden Dimension Bunny chests or obtained from Stashy or another Crest NPC by trading in Dimension Fragments. Keep them until you get a chance to visit the market to gauge their price. If you have stamps to spare, unbind any worth about 100g and sell them. Any crests worth less than 100g is generally not worth it. Some good crests are worth 500g.
- Diamonds, Altheums, Onyxes (for your current level, Exquisite) : These are used to enhance gear. Hoard them. You can use them to enhance or you can sell them on the market.
- NPC Gift Badges : Use them for what they're meant for! Gift them to NPCs for Faction points (Golden Goose, Adventurer's Guild, and Royal Court) which can give you other benefits and rewards like lustres and octagonal water (Adventurer's Guild), or a Golden Goose discount coupon (7 days) which can lower your enhancement prices and raise the amount of money you get from selling items to NPCs. Clear your inventory by simply gifting these away! Though these are listed under items to keep, they are of lower priority, so if you need something, you can drop one.
- Octagonal Water : Can be useful for crafting together lustres or gem fragments, which can then be sold.
- Daredevil Faire Tickets : All those tickets you got from doing Gobarta take a lot of space. Save them to buy Jades (Lvl 40-60) and Crests (Lvl 32-60) for when you're leveling. You can also save them for Lvl 80 to get a Rare Mercenary. This however is not necessary as tickets are incredibly easy to farm. If you really need space, toss these.
Getting Rid of Items
Sometimes you need to get rid of items but don't want to waste potential money! Here are some tips
- Extraction : You can extract a variety of items like Equipment, Dragon Gems and Talismans. While these originally do not stack, their fragmented pieces (results of the extraction) do.
- Gifting : Getting rid of those gifts clogging up your inventory is a great way to make some space. If you need to get rid of Daredevil Faire Tickets, you can buy gifts with them and gift those, too.
- Buying and Selling : Buying useful items can help reduce your inventory if you have several stacks of them. Pick up some Pet Alicorns with all those Goddess Teardrops, some Dragon Gem Cores with those Goddess Laments, Gifts with those DDF Tickets, or Quality Dragon Gems with those PvP medals. Selling the results at the Marketplace will also give you a space or two.
The Other Solution - MORE INVENTORY
Your storage and inventory is STILL full. But what about all those event coupons you want to keep? And those old Nest passes you still have?? What about those event boxes from 2 years ago??? That really cool frozen fish bun you found in the dungeon????
There will always be things you want to keep to fill up your inventory space. So, of course, instead of tossing things, we can always GET MORE INVENTORY.

- Inventory Discount Coupons : No longer available - Will update if these return!
- Storage Discount Coupons : No longer available - Will update if these return!
- Guild Storage : The Guild Storage becomes extra useful in cases like these! If you have access to your Guild Storage, you can use it to store some things. Remember that others may be able to extract from it. Many people create their own personal Guild, where their alt characters level. A personal, high-leveled Guild is a perfect place to store your extra whatnots!
- Shared Storage : Your Shared Storage, accessible as a tab when you speak with any storage NPC, is a great place to store things as well. Make sure to leave a couple of spaces so you can transfer items through your Shared Storage to different characters!
- Alt Characters : Alternate Characters or Mules can be used to store some items as well. Just remember to retrieve your precious collection before you delete the character (obviously)! If another character has an incomplete stack, you can send the item to them to save a space!
- Rewards from Events : On rare occasion, you can get inventory and storage space from an event! If you're a pack rat like me, you'll take every chance for these that you can get.
- Mail : Your mail can serve as a temporary storage. You can send an item to your alt; it will last 30 days in the mailbox! Remember to pick them up, of course!
